Kyrgios pokonał Serba Dusana Lajovicia 6:3, 6:1, dzięki czemu awansował do IV rundy Miami Open 2019. Organizatorzy wydali w poniedziałek oświadczenie, w którym opisali całe zajście. Czytamy w nim, że tenisista został obrażony, a kibic odmówił opuszczenia trybun kortu centralnego Hard Rock Stadium. Służby bezpieczeństwa zebrały się więc i wyprowadziły mężczyznę poza obiekt.

The Aussie offered help on Thursday to a woman whose car died on the side of the road in his hometown of Canberra. Simon Anderson, whose girlfriend was involved, chronicled the story on Twitter and it quickly went viral.

Nick Kyrgios mixed up his service pace and attacked the net to beat in-form Russian Daniil Medvedev on Tuesday at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia for a second-round meeting against Norwegian qualifier Casper Ruud. The enigmatic Aussie, serving at 1-2, 40/15 against Italy's Matteo Berrettini, snuck in an underarm serve and charged the net. Berrettini retrieved the surprise opening and threw up a lob, which Kyrgios gingerly tracked down, giving himself an opportunity for another one of his favourite shots: a tweener.

Kyrgios On Murray Practising: 'I Couldn't Believe What I Was Seeing'

One year ago, Nick Kyrgios played Andy Murray at the Fever-Tree Championships. This year, the Aussie is cheering for his friend, as the former World No. 1 is making his return from hip surgery on the doubles court alongside Feliciano Lopez.
“It's great to see him back. I think results don't matter. Just to see him back healthy and seeing him happy on court is all that matters,” Kyrgios said. “He's actually the first person I saw yesterday on the court doing doubles drills, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.”
Murray last competed at the Australian Open before undergoing right hip resurfacing surgery on 28 January. The Scot did not know if he’d ever be able to return, but he is back on The Queen’s Club grass, where he has captured five singles titles.
“[It’s] unbelievable. He's a warrior. I hit with him a couple times in London, obviously when I took a spell from the French,” said Kyrgios, who was forced to withdraw from Roland Garros due to a stomach bug. “He's still hitting the ball unbelievable. I think he's good enough to do damage in any doubles [match made up] of any players, especially this week with Feliciano. I'd almost pay to watch that match. They're going to be tough to beat. He's a legend.”
Kyrgios, currently No. 39 in the ATP Rankings, is trying to get back on track himself having lost four of his past five matches. At last week’s MercedesCup, the Aussie fell in the first round to eventual champion Matteo Berrettini.
“It's been good [preparation]. Obviously didn't get too many matches last week in Stuttgart, but I lost to the eventual winner,” Kyrgios said. “Played a bit of dubs last week and got here and had a hit. Have been feeling good. This is probably my favourite time of the year. Obviously the Aussie summer is pretty good, but just being in London when the weather is like this is pretty hard to beat. Just playing on grass every day, it's a lot of fun.”
Kyrgios made the semi-finals at The Queen’s Club last year, and he has long enjoyed success on grass, beating Rafael Nadal en route to the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2014 when he was just 19.
“I definitely feel like I can do damage. I have had a lot of good wins on grass,” Kyrgios said. “Obviously made a quarter-final run [at Wimbledon] when I was a little bit younger, but I think if the stars align, for sure I can do damage there.”
The 24-year-old is staying in the present though, only worrying about the challenges in front of him at The Queen’s Club. In the first round, he faces Adrian Mannarino, who lifted his maiden ATP Tour trophy on Sunday at the Libema Open.
“I've got a tough match tomorrow against a guy who won a title yesterday,” Kyrgios said. “I want to have a good week here, find my feet.”

Nick Kyrgios was equally impressive on serve in his 7-6(4), 6-3 win over Spanish lucky loser Roberto Carballes Baena, who moved into the draw when Libema Open champion Adrian Mannarino withdrew due to a hand injury. The Aussie didn’t face a break point and won 87 per cent (26/30) of his first-serve points.
Kyrgios is looking for consistent form on the grass after a mixed season. The World No. 39 defeated Rafael Nadal, John Isner and Alexander Zverev en route to prevailing this March in Acapulco, but has gone a combined 5-8 in his other events this year.

When the Wimbledon draw came out, fans salivated at the chance of a possible clash between Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios in the second round. And although it was nowhere near easy, Kyrgios did his part to make that happen on Tuesday.

Kyrgios defeated fellow Aussie Jordan Thompson 7-6(4), 3-6, 7-6(10), 0-6, 6-1 in three hours and 26 minutes to advance after an entertaining back-and-forth battle.

The match was on World No. 43 Kyrgios’ racquet, but Thompson, just one place below his countryman in the ATP Rankings, took advantage of all of Kyrgios’ slip-ups with his consistency. Any time Kyrgios attempted a trick shot or an interesting shot selection, Thompson took full advantage.

It appeared the key would be the third-set tie-break, in which Kyrgios needed eight set points to close it out. But even after losing the 19-minute tie-break, Thompson immediately responded with a service break, and then two more after that, to quickly force a decider.

Kyrgios’ momentary loss of focus gave Thompson plenty of momentum, putting the latter in position to claim his first win at The Championships, especially as he earned a break point to start the third set. But Kyrgios locked down his side of the court and on his second break opportunity at 2-1, he hit a backhand return to Thompson’s shoestrings, eliciting a short ball that he was able to take advantage of to earn the break.

From there, Kyrgios did not look back, hitting a forehand passing shot winner — his 63rd winner of the match — to earn a potential shot at Nadal. The Spaniard will first have to beat Japan’s Yuichi Sugita in his opener.

If they do meet, it will be their seventh FedEx ATP Head2Head match (tied 3-3). Kyrgios beat Nadal in Acapulco earlier this year, and at Wimbledon in 2014.

It’s no secret that Nick Kyrgios likes facing big players on big courts. After a five-set opening-round win on Tuesday over fellow Aussie Jordan Thompson, he earned the right to face two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal in a match where all eyes will be on him.

But while some players might be disappointed to meet the World No. 2 early in a tournament, Kyrgios said he relishes the opportunity.

“As soon as the draw came out, I was super happy that I saw him in my section. It’s more exciting,” said Kyrgios. “When you're a kid, you want to play the best players in the world on [what] I think is the best court in the world. This is something that I can't take for granted. There's no guarantee I'm going to be here again in this position. I’m going to grasp it with both hands, go out there and give it my best shot.”

But given his 11-9 record this season, he knew better than to look past Thompson. Kyrgios arrived at the All England Club with a title run this March in Acapulco that included wins over Nadal, John Isner and Alexander Zverev in the championship match. But the Aussie has gone 4-6 since then and required more than three hours against Thompson to pick up his first five-set victory Wimbledon 2016 (d. Brown).

“I knew that Thommo has been playing very well. He was more than capable of winning today,” said Kyrgios. “There were a couple moments that if they went his way, he could have easily been the one in this chair.”

Kyrgios and Nadal are even in their FedEx ATP Head2Head rivalry at 3-3, but the Aussie won their most recent clash this year by saving three match points in an epic second-round battle in Acapulco. Four of their six previous matches have taken place before the quarter-final stage, when the Spaniard is arguably more vulnerable before he sinks his teeth into the business end of tournaments.

The 24-year-old also prevailed in their lone grass-court meeting five years ago at Wimbledon. A teenage Kyrgios made full use of his wild card by shocking Nadal in the fourth round. The win made him the first male debutant to reach the quarter-finals at this event since Florian Mayer in 2004 and it remains one of his fondest memories.

“I've looked back on that moment. That's never going to leave my tennis career,” said Kyrgios. “It was one of the most special moments I've ever had.”

Despite his previous success against Nadal, the Aussie is downplaying expectations for another major upset. He declared the Spaniard the favourite based on his track record of success and said anything less than his best tennis would result in defeat. But given his love for the spotlight, it's safe to say that win or lose, Kyrgios will put on a show.

“He's one of the greatest tennis players of all time. I go into that match as an unbelievable underdog. I know if I play the right type of tennis, I can have success against him,” said Kyrgios. “I have to come with the right attitude and be willing to fight. If not, it's going to be butter for him… I need to rest and recover. I have a day out, then I want to go out there and have some fun.”
