Mannarino is through to his second straight final in the Russian capital and will look to go one step further than 2018, where he fell to Khachanov in the championship match. The World No. 44 improves to 10-3 at this tournament with his fifth victory in nine FedEx ATP Head2Head encounters against Seppi.
"That was a really consistent match... I was trying to make Andreas work as hard as I could and I think that it worked out pretty well," said Mannarino. "I was serving well in the most important moments and that helped me a lot. I just hope I will be as consistent [tomorrow as I was] today."

The French lefty overcame that record at the Libema Open in ’s-Hertogenbosch, defeating Jordan Thompson 7-6(7), 6-3 to finally taste a tour-level title.
"People are going to stop talking [about my finals record]," said Mannarino. "In France, we have another player, Julien Benneteau, who lost 10 finals and never won a title. Every time I was losing a [final] I was on my way to Benneteau... This is a big achievement for me. I am not pretending to be Top 10 or anything. Winning a title on the ATP Tour level is already something amazing for me, and I cannot be more thankful to all the people who helped me get to this title."
Mannarino advanced to two more ATP Tour finals this season, falling short in Zhuhai and Moscow.

The World No. 45 came within two points of a straight-sets victory, but eventually worked his way to a 6-0, 6-7(7), 6-0 victory over Alexei Popyrin in one hour and 55 minutes. Mannarino, who lost only nine points in the first set, got to 5/5 in the tie-break, prior to Popyrin converting his third set point. He’ll now face fellow Frenchman, Gael Monfils, the top seed at the ATP 250-level tournament.
