Wyjazd do Chin i na tym koniec. Andy Murray skraca sezon
Spoiler:
Dwie imprezy, w których zaprezentuje się Andy Murray, to Shenzhen (ATP World Tour 250) i Pekin (ATP World Tour 500). 31-letni Brytyjczyk postanowił, że opuści zawody ATP World Tour Masters 1000 w Szanghaju i Paryżu.

Aktualnie zajmuje 308. miejsce w rankingu ATP. W Shenzhen jego pierwszym rywalem będzie Chińczyk Zhizhen Zhang.

Ever since Andy Murray won the first of his three Rolex Shanghai Masters crowns in 2010, the Asian swing has been a happy hunting ground for the Scottish star, with six singles titles from seven finals. Overall, he has compiled a 92-18 match record in Asia.
As he returns this week to the Shenzhen Open, scene of his memorable 2014 triumph, Murray will be hoping to gain momentum, and a degree of confidence for the future, as part of his comeback from right hip surgery in January this year.
On two occasions, Murray’s Asian swing form has triggered monster end-of-season runs.

On two occasions, Murray’s Asian swing form has triggered monster end-of-season runs.
The grit and determination, which provided such memorable imagery in his rise to the summit of men’s professional tennis, first came to the fore in September 2014, when Murray faced an uncertain time. One year on from back surgery, he found himself outside of the Top 10 in the ATP Rankings.
From 2008 to 2013, Murray had featured in the year-end Top 4 and won 23 tour-level titles from 33 finals. Yet on 15 September 2014, and without a title for 13 months — since his historic first crown at The Championships, Wimbledon (d. Djokovic) in July 2013 — the Briton was at No. 11, his lowest position since 23 June 2008. He travelled to Asia in a bid to improve upon his 38-14 record in 2014 and, perhaps, a chance of clinching a place at the season finale in November.
Over a 35-day period, including his title run at the inaugural Shenzhen Open, a semi-final showing at the China Open and titles in Vienna and Valencia, Murray won 20 of 23 matches.
View Murray's 2014 Season Activity
By lifting three ATP World Tour trophies — all over Spanish opponents — under the guidance of his then coach Amelie Mauresmo, Murray rose from 11th position in the ATP Race To London and became the sixth player to secure his place at the Nitto ATP Finals (for the sixth straight year).
This time around in 2018, as Murray begins his campaign in Shenzhen, his expectations are very different. Following the conclusion of next week's China Open in Beijing, Murray has announced that he will shut down his season and begin to prepare for 2019 with a clean bill of health.
But Murray will be no less determined to produce deep Asians runs on the continent that has brought him so much success.
The 2014 champion advances by retirement after nearly three sets
Former World No. 1 Andy Murray had to fight for it, but the Scot began his Asian swing with a victory on Tuesday at the Shenzhen Open.
The 2014 champion led 6-3, 6-7(3), 4-2 when Chinese wild card Zhizhen Zhang retired down 3-6, 7-6(3), 2-4. Murray saved eight of 10 break points and won nearly 60 per cent of his second-serve return points.
“I felt he played very well after the first set,” Murray said. “I just managed to fight hard, stay tough in the beginning of the third set and unfortunately for him, the cramps started. It was very difficult conditions.”

It was Murray's first match since the US Open, when he fell to Spain's Fernando Verdasco in the second round. The Brit will next meet top seed and defending champion David Goffin.
Canadian Denis Shapovalov led the #NextGenATP charge, winning a rain-interrupted first-round match 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 over Ilya Ivashka of Belarus. The match was suspended for more than three hours.
“I think once we came back from the break, we played better,” said Shapovalov, who will next play Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka. “It’s been tough conditions here today, but I felt much better on my return to the court.”
#NextGenATP Aussie Alex de Minaur also advanced, needing only 56 minutes to move past Japan's Yuichi Sugita 6-3, 6-0. De Minaur will next meet American Mackenzie McDonald, who was leading 5-7, 6-0, 5-0 when Slovakia's Lukas Lacko retired.
Indian qualifier Ramkumar Ramanathan knocked out Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic 7-5, 6-1 in 90 minutes to set up a second-round matchup with fourth seed Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Andy Murray chce iść drogą Rogera Federera. Szkot zamierza ograniczyć liczbę występów
Spoiler:

REKLAMA
Brytyjczyk zamierza więc iść drogą Rogera Federera. Szwajcar od sezonu 2017, kiedy to wrócił do rozgrywek po kontuzji kolana, ograniczył liczbę występów. Dało mu to efekt.

Murray Beats Goffin For Biggest Win Of Comeback So Far
Spoiler:
Scot continues mastery over Belgian
Andy Murray might be lacking match experience and still have an ATP Ranking south of 300. But the Scot has not forgotten how to beat Belgian David Goffin.
Murray, in the biggest win of his comeback so far, swept past the top seed and defending champion 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday at the Shenzhen Open. The former World No. 1 improved to 6-0 against Goffin, No. 11 in the ATP Rankings, and earned his first Top 15 victory since the 2017 Roland Garros, when he beat then-No. 9 Kei Nishikori.
“I felt like in terms of the way I hit the ball, it was the best I've played, and I think I knew that I was going to have to hit the ball very well if I wanted to win,” Murray said. “I love the conditions that we play in. Usually it's quite humid, and the courts are a little bit faster than what we usually play on the tour. The conditions that I like are fast courts with slow balls, and with the humidity, that slows the ball down a little bit. I feel like I'm able to control the ball very well here.”

Murray, in his second quarter-final of 2018 (Washington), will face Spain's Fernando Verdasco, who beat Taro Daniel of Japan 3-6, 6-2, 7-5. The Brit owns a 13-2 advantage in his FedEx ATP Head2Head series with Verdasco, but the Spanish left-hander beat Murray the last time they played, during the second round of the US Open.
Murray broke for a 4-1 lead in the opener against Goffin and served out the set to 30. In the second, the Scot was in the zone, breaking during his first three opportunities and leading 5-1.

But Goffin, who won two titles during the Asian swing last year (Shenzhen, Tokyo), fought back. He broke when Murray first attempted to serve out the match during the eighth game and had three more break opportunities in the 10th game before Murray closed out the second-round contest.
“I know David's been struggling a little bit with his serve, with his shoulder the last month, month and a half. So I was able to get a lot of returns back in play, put a lot of pressure on his service games. I served pretty well myself,” Murray said.
The 31-year-old Murray, No. 311 in the ATP Rankings, underwent hip surgery on 8 January and was playing only his 11th match of the season (7-4). He has already announced that next week's China Open in Beijing will be his final tournament of 2018.
Ankle injury forces Brit to withdraw from China Open
Former World No. 1 Andy Murray has withdrawn from next week's China Open due to an ankle injury. The 2016 champion, who reached the Shenzhen Open quarter-finals, will end his season after previously announcing his plans for the Beijing event to be his final tournament of the year.
The 31-year-old ends his 2018 campaign with a 7-5 record, following his long-awaited return to the ATP World Tour at the Fever-Tree Championships in June. Murray's appearance at The Queen's Club ended an 11-month absence, dating back to 2017 Wimbledon, due to hip injury.
After undergoing hip surgery in January, Murray fell in three sets to Nick Kyrgios on his return to action at The Queen's Club. An encouraging straight-sets win over former World No. 3 Stan Wawrinka at the Nature Valley International followed, before three hard-fought wins earned Murray his first quarter-final appearance of the season at the Citi Open. Murray showcased all of his fighting qualities in the American capital, beating Mackenzie McDonald, countryman Kyle Edmund and Marius Copil.
In what would prove to be his final event of the season, Murray showed signs of his best form at the Shenzhen Open to defeat top seed and defending champion David Goffin in straight sets. In the quarter-finals, Fernando Verdasco overcame Murray once again (also US Open) to advance to the final four.

Andy Murray joins Rafael Nadal to play ATP 250 event in...
Spoiler:
The place where Andy Murray will open his 2019 season has been made known. The British player has committed for the second year in a row to play the Brisbane International that will take place from December 30th, 2018 to January 6th, 2019.
Earlier this year, Murray was supposed to play as well, but he withdrew with a hip injury. In Brisbane, Murray won the titles in 2012 and 2013, respectively beating Alexandr Dolgopolov and Grigor Dimitrov in the final. In mid-2017 Murray signed a three-year contract with Tennis Australia to start his season Down Under in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The 31-year-old ended his season in Shenzhen this week losing to the Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the quarter-finals. Andy was forced to skip the China Open in Beijing. 'I injured my ankle in my match in Shenzhen last night and there is no way I can compete effectively next week,' said through a statement Murray, who also commented on his loss to Verdasco: 'It was another three matches, which is positive.
But obviously I want to play better than that, I have higher ambitions than losing in the quarter-finals. I want to try to be better in these events. I need to spend more time on the practice court and the gym so that I'm more robust and physically in better shape.'
Murray chce wrócić do dawnej formy.
REKLAMA

Andy Murray feeling 'better every day' before Brisbane return
Spoiler:
Andy Murray says he is physically feeling "a little bit better every day" after returning to the practice courts in preparation for the 2019 season.
Murray, 31, ended his season early to focus on making "big improvements", having played in six events since returning from hip surgery in June.
The Scot will train in Miami next month before making his competitive return at the Brisbane International in January.
"I'm getting closer," said the former world number one.
The Briton, now ranked 263rd in the world, has not played since losing to Spain's Fernando Verdasco in the Shenzhen Open in September.
He has spent "four or five" weeks building his fitness with off-court training in Philadelphia and plans to increase his workload in Florida before flying out to Brisbane.
Murray is expected to play at the Australian Open later in January and has also announced his entry to the Open Sud de France in Montpellier - an ATP Tour 250 event which he has never previously played - in February.
"I going to get to Miami for three or four weeks to train in the hot conditions and spend a lot more time on the court to get ready for the tournament in Brisbane," said the three-time Grand Slam winner.
