Cilic Inches Closer To London Spot, Mover Of The Week
Spoiler:
ATPWorldTour.com looks at the top Movers of the Week in the Top 100 of the Emirates ATP Race To London, as of Monday, 16 October 2017
No. 5 Marin Cilic, +1
The Croatian is close to booking his third trip in the past four years to the Nitto ATP Finals, to be held 12-19 November at The O2 in London. Cilic climbed one spot in the Emirates ATP Race To London by reaching the semi-finals at the Shanghai Rolex Masters (l. to Nadal). Read Report
The 6'6” right-hander has 3,535 points in the Race, 80 points ahead of Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who's looking to make his debut at the prestigious tournament. The top eight players qualify for the season-ending event. Cilic will look to finalise his London plans in the coming weeks as the ATP World Tour regular season heads into its final stretch.
No. 14 Nick Kyrgios, +1
The Australian right-hander remains in contention to make his first appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals, despite a first-round exit at the Shanghai Rolex Masters (ret. vs. Johnson). Kyrgios is in 14th place in the Race, 595 points behind ninth-placed Pablo Carreno Busta, who has 2,605 points.
The Spaniard holds the final qualification spot, with seventh-placed Stan Wawrinka out of contention for the season due to injury. Kyrgios has a chance to gain more ground this week. The 22 year old is the third seed at the European Open in Antwerp.
No. 17 John Isner, +2
The 6'10” American is now one big run away from joining the Nitto ATP Finals conversation. Last week, Isner reached the third round at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai (l. to Troicki).
Isner has 1,905 points, exactly 700 behind Carreno Busta. But with the final three weeks of the regular season on quick surfaces indoors, Isner could continue climbing. One year ago, he reached his third Masters 1000 final at the Rolex Paris Masters in November before falling to then World-No. 1 Andy Murray in three sets.
No. 18 Juan Martin del Potro, +7
The popular Argentine thrust himself into the London conversation with his impressive play in Shanghai. Delpo, who reached the 2013 Shanghai final, fell one match short of repeating that run, losing in the semi-finals to eventual champion Roger Federer.
But del Potro is in prime position to continue ascending the Race standings. He returns to Stockholm this week as the defending champion of the Intrum Stockholm Open.
No. 29 Richard Gasquet, +10
A back injury and appendicitis surgery kept the Frenchman out of the season's first five Masters 1000 events. But last week, at the season's penultimate Masters 1000 tournament, Gasquet tried to make up for those lost opportunities.
The right-hander made the quarter-finals in Shanghai, fighting through three consecutive three-set matches before losing to eventual champion Federer. Gasquet has had an injury-riddled season. Back problems also forced him to withdraw from Bastad and Hamburg, and he had to pull out of his third-round match at Roland Garros because of a thigh injury.

No. 30 Andrey Rublev, +2
No. 35 Alexandr Dolgopolov, +2
No. 41 Steve Johnson, +4
No. 49 Jared Donaldson, +2
No. 52 Viktor Troicki, +14
No. 58 Jan-Lennard Struff, +7
No. 78 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, +17

Querreyowi wystarcza jedno zwycięstwo, aby go przegonić w Race.
