1) More Mexico Success For Tsitsipas?: Playing his first tournament since the Australian Open, Tsitsipas is back in action at the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo, where he collected the title last August. Despite the fact he will start the tournament outside the Top 10 of the Pepperstone ATP Rankings for the first time in five years, the Greek looks to bring a high level to the ATP 250 as the second seed.

Defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas also moved on with a commanding 6-3, 6-0 triumph against Australian Aleksandar Vukic.

“Great to be back. Thank you guys,” Tsitsipas said. “It was fun playing out here tonight. Thank you for your support. I’m happy that I got such a good win and showed the best of my tennis. I thank you for every single point that you’ve been cheering me on.”

The second seed saved all three break points he faced to reach the quarter-finals. Last year he lost just one set en route to the Los Cabos crown and will hope to lift the trophy again this week.

Tsitsipas will next play American qualifier Aleksandar Kovavevic, who clawed past Australian Rinky Hijikata 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Kovacevic will try to make his second ATP Tour semi-final after advancing to the last four in Seoul last year.

Tsitsipas advances to Los Cabos semi-finals

Ruud will next play second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who ousted Aleksandar Kovacevic 7-6(1), 6-3. He has split two previous meetings with Tsitsipas.

The Greek star dominated behind his first serve, winning 87 per cent of those points, which made the difference in the match. Kovacevic surged to a 3-0 lead in the opening set, but was unable to maintain his level throughout the encounter as the 2019 Nitto ATP Finals champion worked his way into the match.

Tsitsipas is trying to gain momentum this week after losing in the first round of the Australian Open. He is the defending champion in Los Cabos.
