Eugenie Bouchard and Milos Raonic, Canada's two greatest players of all time, hosted the Mini Rogers Cup on Wednesday, hitting with kids on a court on a barge in Lake Ontario.
From hitting with the kids to a stunt match against each other, the Canadians had an absolute blast.
"It was really fun," Bouchard told Sportsnet. "I love anything to do with kids, and I think it's so important to get a racquet in their hands, get them out on the court playing - I think that's the first step to them falling in love with the sport, them playing more, and hopefully growing tennis in our country."

Bouchard and Raonic are Canada's two most successful tennis players of all time, the first two Canadians ever to break the Top 5 in the world - Bouchard made it as high as No.5 in the world on the WTA Rankings last year, while Raonic peaked at No.4 on the ATP World Tour rankings this year.
No Canadian has ever done as well at Grand Slams, either. Bouchard became the first Canadian, male or female, to reach a Grand Slam final at Wimbledon last year, while Raonic became the first Canadian man to reach a Grand Slam semifinal, also at Wimbledon last year. Who will be the first to win a major?

Eugenie Bouchard says she is getting impatient with her poor performances this season.
The 21-year-old Canadian, who reached No. 5 in the rankings, is down to No. 26 and has won only a handful of matches since the Australian Open.
"I've been saying all year that maybe a little bit of patience is required, but now I'm tired of being patient," she told local media in Toronto in a promotional appearace for the Rogers Cup.
Bouchard confirmed that in addition to getting a new coach, Sam Sumyk, following the Australian Open, she is also no longer working with her former trainer. The changes to her team have also required adjustment. "Good people that will help you improve are hard to find," she said.
She took some time off following a first-round exit at Wimbledon and indicated she is now mentally and physically fresh again.
"It's been interesting for me to see how when I started doing well, how everyone jumped on the bandwagon or whatever -- building me up so much," she said, reflecting previous comments."And then to see how they would break you down so much as well."
"I'm definitely hard on myself but there definitely are some harsher critics than others... But I think it's all part of the job, so," she added.
Despite her recent run, Bouchard is not looking to change her assertive counterpunching game. "It's more mental right now," she said, "just in terms of believing in myself, having that confidence that I can make that backhand down the line nine out of 10 times whereas recently I've been feeling a little more shaky on some things."
Bouchard's next scheduled tournament will be the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard has parted ways with her coach, Sam Sumyk, she announced on Friday.
Bouchard hired Sumyk in February following a quarterfinal finish at the Australian Open. Marko Dragic will coach Bouchard at the Rogers Cup, which begins next week.
At a news conference, Bouchard said she feels like she hasn't quite been herself lately and has been working on changing that in practice.
“I'm looking for someone who can help me improve all areas of my game,” she said. “I think it's very important to be able to address the technical side, the tactical side, the mental side and the physical side.”
The 21-year-old has struggled since the Australian Open, going 4–13 through Wimbledon. After being the runner-up at Wimbledon in 2014, Bouchard lost in the opening round this year. She had previously lost in the first round at the 2015 French Open.
Bouchard recently pulled out of the Citi Open due to an abdominal injury.

Eugenie Bouchard working with tennis great Jimmy Connors

Eugenie Bouchard is getting a little help from Jimmy Connors ahead of the US Open.
A statement issued by Bouchard's management company Thursday said Bouchard and Connors have "no long-term plans at this time" for a coaching arrangement.
The statement said Bouchard, the 2014 runner-up at Wimbledon, and Connors, an eight-time major champion, "have been friends for a few years" and that the two are working together this week while Connors is in New York.
Connors coached Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova in the past, although he worked with Sharapova for all of one match in 2013.
The US Open starts Monday. The 25th-seeded Bouchard was drawn to play Alison Riske of the United States in the first round.
Bouchard, who recently stopped working with coach Sam Sumyk, has won three of her past 17 matches, with first-round losses at Wimbledon and the French Open.

An Interview With: Eugenie Bouchard (US Open 2015 1-st round win)

Q. This is an opponent you know well, and against whom you've had success. How much did that help you coming into today's match?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: It did help me a little bit knowing I had a good record against her. At the same time, you know, all of our matches from the past don't mean anything 'cause it was a new match today. It was a new tournament. I know she's a tough fighter out there, so I had to kind of work for everything. I knew that going in. It was definitely a tough battle. It was pretty long for two sets.
Q. At this point, what does any one victory mean to you?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: So much. (Smiling.) It's great to get one win. I'm just focused on one day at a time, one point, one match. You know, not looking ahead at all. Not getting ahead of myself. So, you know, every match means something to me. Yeah, I'm proud of myself for today. I just got to, you know, try to perform well in my next match.
Q. Did you think the Vinci loss was sort of exaggerated? She's kind of eccentric or different type of player, and she played well. That match, even on the outside looked like it was a pretty bad loss.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, I've tried to erase that match from my memory. I don't even want to think about it.
Q. What have you learned in these last few months? It's been a continual rise up the rankings for you; this is the first rough patch for you. What has this taught you as a player and a person?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: It has taught me that the journey towards success is not always easy or upwards, like it was for me last year. It happened for me last year and that was great, but I still have to go through the grind like every single player does. You know, just because I had success before doesn't mean I can just skip this whole process of all the steps. So, yeah, I just have to grind this year.
Q. Did you feel any different stepping on court today compared to the weeks previous?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I definitely felt different than last week. Just more inspired, more confident, more motivated. You know, just kind of trying to regain the confidence and the belief in myself. I've been working on that. Obviously being at the US Open helps. The crowd, you know, just this whole atmosphere, it's what I thrive on. It's what I do well on. So that definitely helped me out today, too.
Q. You were saying you were more motivated and more confident. Why?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I think my loss last week was kind of a shock to me, a little bit of a wake-up call in a sense I had to get my act together a little bit. And then working this week with Jimmy, as well, has really given me a different side of things, like a different point of view. He's very energetic. He's kind of lifted my spirits a little bit. He believes in me. He helped me kind of believe in myself more and regain that confidence. So, yeah, I think that's helped me as well.
Q. A year ago you were the darling of the tennis world.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: So I'm not anymore? (Smiling.)
Q. Quite apart from what has happened on the court, do you feel a little bit roughed up or beaten up by some of the coverage you've received. A lot of people turned on you; I think it would be fair to say that.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, everyone kind of jumped on the bandwagon last year and were super quick to be at my throat this year. You know, it's a bit hard in a way. I try to block it out as much as possible. I've learned the media, they always want to write a story. They always need a headline. I try not to take it personally. You know, I don't think I deserved all the stuff I got. You know, at the same time it's their job, it's your jobs, and I respect that. What I think about myself, to myself at night when I go to sleep, I just have to remember that.
Q. What is that?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: That I'm a wonderful person. (Smiling.) That I'm a good tennis player. I have the skill. I have everything I need. Just no matter what keep working, keep my head up, keep my spirits up, keep that belief no matter what people say. It can be hard at times when you hear so many negative things. If I think that about myself, my inner team truly believes in me as well. That helps. That is what is helping me get through.
Q. How did you first reach out to Jimmy and how much will you talk with him this week and stay in touch?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, I've known Jimmy for a couple of years actually. He's been a friend. He was here this week. We just decided to work together for a couple days, even though we knew he was leaving. He left last night. It was just great to get on the court with him the first time, even though I've known him for a few years. Just to hear stories about him winning back at Forest Hills, the way the tour was back then, it's funny and inspiring. But we're still in touch right now. I mean, I called him before my match. I'll call him after I do press and see what he has to say.
Q. Do you get any sense of a difference of what it feels like in your mind, how your body feels? Is your mind calmer? Do you feel the difference between the two? Do you sense it?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: After a win, I mean, I kind of get that positive affirmation that, you know, the work I've done, how I know I can play is good, that I'm on the right path type of thing. When you have a loss sometimes you question everything you're doing, your team, your inner belief. Even though maybe you shouldn't 'cause you could still play great, still be on the right path even if you lose. A win definitely helps in the confidence department, even though I feel like I'm working as hard as I can, despite the losses I've had this summer.
Q. I meant like while it's actually happening.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Like on the court?
Q. Yes. Your brain waves, do you feel the difference between which direction the match is headed?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah. But it's actually something I don't want to be kind of too aware about, because if I think too much about the score or the outcome, I know that's bad for me. I don't want to focus on that. I want to keep my energy up and my spirits and my attitude the same whether I'm winning or losing. That's something I'm trying to work on. I definitely feel more energy and more confident when it's going well. But that's what champions do well. When it's not going well, they keep that up and they keep fighting, no matter what. So that's a goal of mine.
Q. Jimmy Connors, is he planning to come back here?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: He is, but only next Sunday. So I have to do well to see him again. (Smiling.)
Q. Have you been briefed on this ESPN mid-match interview thing at all?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yes. I just got briefed right before walking in here.
Q. Have you been briefed by ESPN, I guess?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: No. I just heard about it right before coming in here. I had no idea.
Q. Last year the US Open was your weakest Grand Slam. After what happened against Vinci, do you think it can be a breakthrough Grand Slam? The US Open possibly can be the strongest Grand Slam this year?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I can't predict the future, but I felt good today. I'm just going to take it one match at a time. I'm happy with a victory from today. I just want to keep going. I'm not going to look ahead. No matter what, I want to have a successful US Open no matter how many matches I win or lose. I know I can make it successful if I do the right things. That's really my goal.
Q. How amenable would you be to being interviewed after the first or second set of a match?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I'm not sure. I haven't had time to think about it. I heard about it 15 minutes ago. I'd have to think. Maybe only if I win the first set or something. Honestly I'm not sure right now. I'd have to think about that. I think it's kind of cool in a way. If it gives fans more access, if it makes the match more interesting, why not? If the players are used to it, I don't see anything wrong with it.

An Interview With: Eugenie Bouchard (Round 2 win US Open 2015)

Q. What are you most proud of today?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: The way I kept my nerve at the end of the third. This year I've had a couple matches where it's been tough to close out. I just tried to block that out of my mind, block the outcome as well out of my mind, you know, and just keep playing tennis. Keep trying to play good tennis. Got tough there at the end, so I'm proud of that.
Q. You showed some signs of frustration towards the end of the second set. Where were you mentally then, and how did you turn it around in the third?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, I was frustrated. I was serving at 4-3 and 5-4 in the second. Just felt like I wasn't doing the right thing. You know, I think I was a little too hesitant in those games. Yeah, I mean, she was playing solid and making me really work for it. I don't know. I mean, I just told myself to get back to just trying to play good tennis and forget everything else. I'm happy that I was able to kind of rebound and get a good start in the third.
Q. Did you try to play more aggressive in the third?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I did, yeah. I tried to put more pressure because I felt like that's when I did the best. Try to attack her backhand a bit more, put more pressure on the second serve, but I think in general I actually returned well on the first and second.
Q. Generally how are you feeling confidence-wise after recording two straight wins for the first time in a while?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I know. It's like a huge deal. (Smiling.) Just confident that I believed in myself in the third. Even when things got tough, I kept the confidence up and the belief. Tried to keep myself going energy-wise. Those are all things that I think helped today. Those are all things that I didn't do so well in past matches where I've lost. As long as I'm taking a step in the right direction I'm happy with that and I can't ask for more.
Q. How important would you say confidence and belief are to succeeding on the court?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I think it's really important. I had so much confidence last year. This year, after losing a couple matches, I felt like that went down a little bit, even though it shouldn't have. I feel like I'm rebuilding that. It's definitely helping me on the court.
Q. Did you feel your fitness held up so well considering you haven't played too many long matches?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I was not surprised at that. I have been working hard in practice, practicing more than I would like to. Too much. Yeah, I mean, I felt great in the third. Towards the end of the third it was definitely getting tough. Yeah, I felt great and I just wanted to keep putting the pressure on. I felt like I could be out there as long as I needed to.
Q. Any thoughts on the Grandstand Court? It's the last year of that court. What are your thoughts on that court?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: It's the last year of it? That's sad. That's my first time playing on it. It's very intimate. I feel like the people are right there. When I go to the back with my towel, I feel like I could touch someone and they could touch me, which would be really weird. That thought crossed my mind during the match because they're right there. It's really cool. That awkward shade, it's the same for everyone. I really like my experience on Grandstand.
Q. Have you been doing anything differently preparation-wise mentally or physically in this Grand Slam compared to the French and Wimbledon?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Coming into this US Open I've been healthy, so that's I think the biggest point. I think all the other slams this year I had a few things here and there. Didn't get the preparation I needed to. Coming into this slam, I feel like I did. Even though I didn't play as many matches as I wanted to, I was getting the practice in. That also helps with your confidence, knowing everything's good with your body.
Q. How do you feel about Cibulkova in the third round?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I'm looking forward to it. I've never played her, I don't think. I know she's a really tough competitor. I'm really looking forward to it. I think it will be such a good fight. She'll probably be more aggressive, or at least stand a bit closer than my opponent today. It will be tough back and forth, but I'm really excited for that.
Q. You volleyed pretty well today.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Thank you. Yeah, I don't know where that came from. I was trying to, you know, finish off the points at the net. My opponent today was standing really far back, so I felt like I had to mix things up and change it up because it was quite different actually than most opponents I've played.
Q. After last year's breakout season, have you felt weighed down by expectations at all, and how have you learned to manage that?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, definitely that's been a huge thing this year, dealing with the expectations, pressure, more attention. Yes, your life changes a little bit. There is an adaptation period. I feel like I'm past that now. I try not to worry too much about what everyone says and just focus on me. You know, I'm just trying to take a better kind of approach to it. Yeah, so I feel like I've been doing better with that now.

An Interview With: Eugenie Bouchard (Round 3 win US Open 2015)

Q. You played awfully well.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Thank you.
Q. How did that happen? Seemed like last year all over again.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Talking about singles? (Smiling.)
Well, I mean, it was just such a battle. I knew going in that she was going to be like that. She really put a lot of pressure on me actually. She was really going for her shots and swinging.
A lot of times I couldn't, you know, dominate the way I wanted to. I just stayed in there. In the third I tried to stay calm. I told myself that I don't have energy to spare on being negative, so I need to save all my energy.
I just tried to stay calm and that helped me out in the third.
Q. Did you feel in more control of everything?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah. I mean, day by day I'm feeling a tiny bit better every single day. That's a great thing, to be able to improve a little bit every single day or every match.
Yeah, I mean, I felt like I could hit some great balls there. Yeah, the times when I wasn't playing so well, I think she played well.
I was just on my back foot a little bit. That's because of the pressure she put on me, as well.
Q. After the year you've had, what do you consider the biggest reasons for your success so far at the Open?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Continuing to believe, putting my head down, working hard, trying just to regain that confidence, that belief.
I mean, nothing specific. It's not like a magical word or something you can just do overnight. I've been trying the whole year to play well. Just doesn't always happen.
So I'm glad, though, that I seem to have found more of my rhythm. Jimmy also helped, as well.
Q. In what way?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: In the kind of mental confidence department, I'd say. He has so much experience, obviously. Just hearing his stories and listening to him speak, you know, I obviously respect him so much. I think he was great mentally when he played.
Just the little tips and advice he would give me. The fact that he told me he truly believes in me reminded me, Hey, I need to believe in myself as well. We just needed to build up my confidence a little bit.
Q. How important is it to have a great player like him sort of vouching for your potential, especially in a year when people have expressed doubts?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: It means a lot, you know. He said, you know, You're too good to be having the results you're having. He's definitely helped me in my time of need.
Q. How would you rate that final set? Looked from the outside looking in like it was some of the best tennis you played this entire season, even back in January. How did it feel out there?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I still, like, have 'mixed' in my head. I still think about the third set of mixed doubles. (Smiling.)
I got broken in the first game. I really just told myself to stay calm and to be a bit more aggressive. I think I had to put more pressure on her 'cause she was really striking the ball.
So I was, you know, having to defend a little bit. She was doing better than me in the second set.
Yeah, I just stayed calm, just keep going, just keep going, just keep believing. That's what helped me.
Q. You and Nick have two different on-court temperaments. Do you have to keep him on a leash at all?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: He was getting frustrated with himself a little bit. He felt like he should have helped the team more, which I expected as well. I said, Look, I'm tired. You have to do most of the work.
I think he was about to, you know, throw his racquet or say a bad word and get his suspension thing. He's like, I'm about to do it, I'm about to do it.
I'm like, No, you're not. Don't do it. It's not worth it.
Yeah, I don't know, he would just miss another return or something.
Q. You guys looked like you were having a good time out there tonight. I wanted to ask you about your chemistry on court. Why does it work so well, and your friendship off the court?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: It was super fun. He's just really like a funny guy. I was laughing like the whole time. That's probably why I'm extra tired now because I was just laughing all the time.
He has like constant conversations with like people in the crowd. So I was just listening. It was just so funny.
But, yeah, we told ourselves we were going to be so relaxed, just have fun. That's all I wanted to do.
Deep down we both really wanted to win, so we were like pretty pumped that we won.
Q. Tough match tomorrow. How motivated are you to keep the mixed run going?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: We are motivated, yeah. I got told as well that I'm the only pair left in all three events. I wanted to keep that going. That was my ultimate goal when I signed up for all three. Very proud of myself for that.
Yeah, obviously a great team. We're just going to go for it and have fun again. You never know what happens in doubles or mixed doubles.
Q. What about your friendship off the court? Seems like you've been a big support to Nick.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I've known him since the junior days. Seen him around a lot. And, yeah, I just think he's really nice. You know, obviously we talk a bit more now since we're playing mixed doubles together. We've never hung out or anything.
Yeah, I mean, I just think he's so funny and interesting and he's good for the game. So I support him. Yeah, he's very nice and humble.
Q. Did you consider not playing the doubles?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Today?
Q. Yes.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: No. Not at all. I was looking forward to it so much. After the match I told all the fans to go watch.
Q. How about the Vinci match?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, I want to do better than last time. (Laughter.) I mean, my goal is to do better than last time, yeah.
Q. Did you learn anything from that match? She's obviously a very different sort of player. Anything you think you're going to know going in?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: "Patience" would be the first word that comes to mind. I mean, I learned a lot of things, maybe not necessarily relating to her, in that match. I think that match was beyond tennis as well, in a sense.
So I'm just going to go out there and, you know, make it about the tennis. I want to try to be patient, be ready for 200 slices, and just try to go for it.
Q. How was that match beyond tennis?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, for me it was a mental thing. I wasn't patient. I was doing crazy things. I wasn't even playing the right way. Just kind of got a reality check in that match.
It wasn't so much about her, but she's really tough as well because of those off-pace balls.
Q. One of the areas of focus on Serena is how she's able to come back when she's down. For you personally, what are the qualities or thoughts that you most draw upon when you're down in a match? What do you admire most in Serena's ability to come back in a match?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Serena's done it so many times this year it's been amazing. Even in the Grand Slams. She always fights and finds a way. I think that's what real champions do.
Q. How does she do it?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: You have to ask her. I would like to know because I would like to do that more often.
But, I mean, I think she just has that belief. She knows she's so good. The longer a match goes, I mean, the odds go more towards the better player. But, I mean, she just fights and finds a way.
That's what I try to do, as well. But also in the third set for me today, I also tried to be calm and control my emotions a little bit. So that's what helped me today.
I think Serena lets out her emotions so that helps her, but I try to stay a bit more calm.
Q. What do you learn seeing what Serena seems to be able to do?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: So much. Even the greatest player of all times loses sets or is down in a match. It just shows that, you know, a win is never guaranteed. It shows all of us that we have to work for every point, fight for every point no matter what.
Even if you're the greatest of all time, people are not just going to give it to you. It's a great lesson. It's a great thing to see. I admire her so much for fighting, coming back, fighting against girls who she could win in two sets but she doesn't. She just tries to find a way.
Q. Now that you have three good wins behind you and your level is increasing match to match, do your ambitions change at all with respect to this tournament?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: In terms of performance -- or results, sorry - I would say no. I just want to focus match by match. When I was coming into this tournament, one win was a huge thing for me.
I want to keep it that way. You know, every match you try to do as well as you can. If you win, it's a great thing. Every match in a way is, like, really important to me. That's how I'm going to keep looking at it.
Including doubles and mixed, so I have two tomorrow.
Q. What do you think it will be like having Jimmy here?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, will he make it in time for my match? You guys wouldn't know. It will be great. I talk to him every day, though. He's watching all the time.
But, yeah, of course his presence will be greatly appreciated. I think we've had a good couple weeks, so I just want to keep that going.

In very unfortunate news, Eugenie Bouchard was forced to withdraw from the US Open ahead of her fourth round match against Roberta Vinci on Sunday due to a concussion.
Bouchard, the No.25 seed at the last Grand Slam of the year, was having her best result at a major since the first Grand Slam of the year - she reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
But after her third round win against Dominika Cibulkova on Friday, Bouchard slipped in the locker room and suffered a head injury - she withdrew from the doubles and mixed on Saturday, and her singles withdrawal followed on Sunday, shortly before her match against Vinci was to take the court.
Vinci is through to the third Grand Slam quarterfinal of her career, her first two coming right here at the US Open as well, in 2012 (falling to Sara Errani) and 2013 (falling to Flavia Pennetta).

Eugenie Bouchard has been forced to pull out of next week's Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo due to the continuing effects of the concussion she sustained at the US Open last week.
"I'm really disappointed to withdraw from The Toray Pan Pacific Open, but I haven't sufficiently recovered from the concussion I sustained while competing at the US Open," Bouchard commented.
"My fans in Japan are very special to me. I love playing there and I can't wait to go back next year."
In Flushing Meadows last fortnight, Bouchard battled through three tough opponents - Alison Riske, Polona Hercog and Dominika Cibulkova - to reach the fourth round, her first time winning three matches in a row since the Australian Open and a run that was completely reviving her 2015 season.
After the grueling win over fellow former Top 10 player Cibulkova, Bouchard slipped in the locker room and suffered the concussion, subsequently withdrawing from the women's doubles and mixed doubles the next day and, a day later, pulling out of her fourth round singles match against Roberta Vinci.
Vinci would go on to upset Serena Williams and reach her first Grand Slam final later in the week.
Bouchard's next scheduled event is the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open, a Premier-level event she has very fond memories of - she made it all the way to the final last year before falling to Petra Kvitova.

Oby wszystko było dobrze, ale nie sądzę, aby czołowej tenisistce świata badali głowę stetoskopem i latarką.
Nie żebym coś insynuował, ale chroniczne bóle mogą być bardzo przydatne w procesie o odszkodowanie, trwały uszczerbek na zdrowiu ceni się odpowiednio wyżej. Z dobrym adwokatem może zgarnąć większą kasę, niż za ostatnie kortowe wyczyny.

Nie przypuszczam, by artystyczny taniec na rurze wymagał dużo mniej treningu od tenisa, więc pewnie i tu z czasem zabrakłoby samozaparcia . Za to na prywatnym pokazie stroje mogłyby być jeszcze ciekawsze niż na korcie . Podobno Gienia miała ostatnio instagramowy detoks, ale skoro dodaje zdjęcia to chyba już się zakończył.

Eugenie Bouchard got a cold welcome in The Netherlands, where she is set to play the Ricoh Open next week in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Maybe they were basking in the glow of having their first Roland Garros semifinalist since 1971 in Kiki Bertens. Maybe they were unaware the festivities in Paris are winding down, as the tournament enters its final stage. Or maybe, just maybe, the Dutch are incredibly adept at constructing the perfect burn.
Whatever the reason, this exchange between Bouchard and a Dutch border control agent escalated quickly:

Him: Oh, shouldn't you still be in Paris then?

Bouchard lost in the second round of the French Open last week to Timea Bacsinszky. The Dutch immigration officers must not follow Genie on Twitter. She's been training and relaxing in London since leaving Paris.
The Ricoh Open begins on June 6th. Jelena Jankovic, CoCo Vandweghe, and Jelena Ostapenko are in the draw, along with Belinda Bencic, who is scheduled to make her return after a lower back injury.
A Wimbledon finalist in 2014, Bouchard is scheduled to play a full grass court schedule over the upcoming weeks. After the Ricoh Open she will head to the WTA's new grass court event at the Mallorca Open, then to the Aegon International in Eastbourne, England before heading to Wimbledon.

EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Well, I definitely feel like I wasn't on top of my game today and she definitely was. I have to give credit to my opponent. She's playing at a high level in general right now, and she was really going for it and really, yeah, taking it to me. Sometimes, a lot of points I felt like I didn't have an answer.

Q. You seemed to be getting really frustrated mentally. Can you talk about that? You smashed a racquet one time. Is it more of a mental thing or physical thing for you?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: A little bit of both. But, yeah, I definitely was a bit emotional out there. It's frustrating to feel like you're not playing your best tennis at Wimbledon. So that's how I felt.
You know, sometimes when I get it out, I can turn it around and play a bit better. Yeah, didn't really happen this time, though.
Q. Did she do anything to surprise you with her game?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, I know her so it's not really a surprise but just I mean, maybe a little bit of how maybe aggressive she was. She was even, you know, killing my serves and, yeah, controlling points more than I did.
So that part, the consistency with which she did that was, you know, impressive.
Q. There are some people who would say that opponents have figured out your game a bit. That's why you struggle. Do you think that might be part of what's happening or have you tried to mix up your game a bit?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Well, you know, when I had success and started my career it's an advantage kind of being a new player on tour, you know, the young, unknown type of player. But, you know, I don't feel like that's necessarily a big factor for me today. You know, I think my average results, let's say, last year were due to me and not my opponents figuring things out, because I know when I play my game I can compete with the best in the world.
Q. How disappointing is this loss? Looked like you were getting back to the form you were in a couple of years ago.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah.
Q. How big of a blow is it to you?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Well, I mean, I can't forget that I have made steps in the past couple of weeks. So, you know, as painful as it is right now, I do need to realize I have made some progress.
Obviously losing at Wimbledon really sucks, and, you know, I will try and learn from it. But, yeah, it really wasn't my day a little bit today.
Q. You missed, especially in the first set, a lot of second serve returns that normally you'd make. What was going on there?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah. I was really disappointed. I think that's probably the worst part of today was my returning. Her serve is not super powerful but it is tricky in the sense that I think it stays low. She kind of slices it a bit.
I mean, I don't know what was going on, but I couldn't get in the right position, and, yeah, I couldn't believe how many I was missing. That definitely didn't help.
Q. In hindsight, if you could go out there and play the match again, would you do anything different?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I think I would just try to go for it more. I think she was definitely more aggressive, but also I feel like my ball quality probably wasn't up to my usual standard, which allowed her to have time and be able to dictate the points. When I'm free and I hit the ball, it comes off a lot better.
So maybe yeah, it would be a little more relaxed probably.
Q. I know you have doubles left and you were named to the Olympic team this week. Your thoughts moving forward with the doubles and with the Olympics.
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah, I might play doubles tomorrow. Not sure. I'm still in Wimbledon somehow. But I'm just going to go and have fun. Sabine is fun to play with. We talked. She lost today, as well. We are going to kind of go for it in doubles and try and find our games back a little bit.
Yeah, take it from there. I'm still taking life one day at a time, so I'm not looking far ahead.
Q. Olympics wise, are you excited about going to Rio?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: Yeah. It's my first Olympics games. That should be exciting.
Q. I know you like the big stage. Court 2 is a nice court and everything, but do you think Centre Court would have been more to your liking?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, Centre Court is always more to my liking. I mean, that's out of my control, and, you know, I have to perform no matter what stage I'm on, whether there is three people watching or I'm on Centre Court at Wimbledon. Yeah.
Q. Was the court any different than Centre Court after being there the last couple of times?
EUGENIE BOUCHARD: I mean, the dimensions of the tennis court were the exact same, but the biggest thing I noticed was just kind of the tricky weather. I think it was swirling wind a little bit. Definitely when I already didn't feel my timing, that kind of exacerbated the situation.
But of course it's the same for both players. But, yeah, it's a nice court. I have played on it before.
