"There are other tournaments in which I would like to win. However, in the end, trophies are just pieces of metal. The main thing that I took from tennis is love. She will remain with me forever, and I am sincerely grateful for this “ - David Ferrer

Second seed and World No. 13 Ernests Gulbis will be kicking off his 2015 campaign at the ATP World Tour 250 event along with his friend and occasional training partner 21-year-old Dominic Thiem. Roberto Bautista Agut and Kevin Anderson round out the top four seeds.
Currently the youngest player in the Emirates ATP Rankings Top 40, Thiem made an appearance for the draw ceremony where he discussed his first-round match against a familiar opponent in Jan-Lennard Struff.
“He’s my doubles partner and I know him pretty well,” Thiem said. “It will be a difficult first round, and it’s quite funny that the only two German speaking guys in the event face each other in the first match.”
Thiem isn’t the only rising star to compete in Auckland. Ranked World No. 95, 18-year-old Borna Coric is the youngest player in the Top 100. He’s looking forward to receiving support from the strong local Croatian community.
“I hope they are going to come and see me, and I hope to meet them as well,” Coric said. ”Croatians are nice people, especially to each other, so hopefully they will cheer for me. I’m going to need their help, for sure.”
