In an all-Austrian opener, 18-year-old Dominic Thiem earned his first tour-level win by defeating 44-year-old Thomas Muster 6-2, 6-3 in 63 minutes. Thiem converted on five of his six break points against the former World No. 1.

"He’s done very well," said Muster. "He came out firing and played very well. He’s an upcoming player from Austria. He’s very young and ambitious, all the best to him."

Dominic Thiem of Austria and Anett Kontaveit of Estonia produced outstanding performances on the clay courts of the Frank Veltri Tennis Center yesterday as they picked up titles at the 2011 Orange Bowl, the last Grade A event on the ITF Junior Circuit for 2011.

By an identical scoreline to last week’s Eddie Herr final, top seed Dominic Thiem once again defeated No.7 Patrick Ofner 61 60 to claim his third consecutive title in the last three weeks. World No. 8 Thiem played perfect and mature tennis, using his effective serve and powerful forehand, dropping just one game in his comfortable win.

“I am very happy for winning my first Grade A title. I was expecting a tough match today. I think we were both tired from the last week. I played very aggressive and I did not make mistakes while Ofner made more mistakes” said Thiem, who last year won both the Yucatan Cup and Eddie Herr but not managing to claim the Orange Bowl title. “I think the dream of everyone playing this tournament is to win it once. I did it.” added the Austrian who is training with Gunther Bresnik, the coach of former ATP No. 1 Boris Becker.
