I cooked for myself or others
Two weeks ago in Geneva. Mashed potatoes and steak. Real easy.

It was a long time ago. With Jonathan Dasnieres de Veigy three years ago. He was not in the main draw and I told him to stay with me in my room.

I slipped on my diet
After a match I eat a lot of fast food. I like it. Here, in Washington, I like to go to Five Guys. Not before a match, but two days ago I went there and I like it.

I drank Coca-Cola during a match
It was in Roland Garros four years ago. Since then I stopped because it was too much sugar in my body and I was feeling bad. I said 'no more' during a match (laughs).

I missed a flight
In Wimbledon this year. I missed my flight because there was too much traffic. I slept at the hotel at the airport. I was going home.

I strung a racquet
When I was younger. I was 17 years old. My father had a stringing machine.

I played a practical joke on a player
Michael Llodra does a lot. Sometimes too much. In the locker room I stay really relaxed and focused.

I asked someone for their autograph
It was Rafael Nadal, for my mother. At Wimbledon two years ago.

I visited a country for the first time
Umag [in July]. It was my first time in Croatia. It was really nice because the tournament was good and it’s right on the beach and you can go swimming. It was beautiful.

Trofeo Faip Perrel (Bergamo, Italy): Former World No. 24 Benoit Paire has fallen on hard times after dropping out of the Top 100 last year, but the 25 year old discovered his groove on the indoor hard courts of Bergamo.

Paire defeated Aleksandr Nedovyesov 6-3, 7-6(3) to claim his fourth ATP Challenger Tour title and first in two years. A two-time finalist on the ATP World Tour, in Montpellier 2013 (l. to Gasquet) and Belgrade 2012 (l. to Seppi), he needed 68 minutes to join the winners circle on Sunday, becoming the second Frenchman to win in Bergamo (Santoro '07).

Paire: "The key to victory was my serve. It worked very well from the very beginning and allowed me to be aggressive. When the court is so fast, it is very important. I also improved my return during the week.

"3,000 people in the final was unbelievable. I'd never seen a crowd like this in a Challenger.

"Last year was very tough for me, because I could not play for 7-8 months with a knee injury. The most important thing is to be healthy and play every tournament. If I play like today, the results will come. I'll try to come back to the Top 50."

Benoit Paire won his second ATP Challenger Tour title of the year.

Open BNP Paribas Banque de Bretagne (Quimper, France): Benoit Paire extended his ATP Challenger Tour-leading win-loss mark to 14-1 in 2015, downing countryman Gregoire Barrere 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in Quimper. The Frenchman has reached three finals in four weeks, claiming a pair of titles. He needed one hour and 41 minutes to defeat Barrere for his fifth career crown.

Paire, who becomes the third different Frenchman to emerge victorious in the five-year history of the event, makes his Top 100 return with the win. Wild card Barrere, 21, was contesting just his third tournament on the Challenger circuit.

Benoit Paire wins his first ATP World Tour title in Bastad

Benoit Paire beat Tommy Robredo 7-6(7), 6-3 to claim his maiden ATP World Tour title at the SkiStar Swedish Open on Sunday.

The Frenchman, now 1-2 in tour-level finals, joined this year’s first-time winners: Jiri Vesely (Auckland), Victor Estrella Burgos (Quito), Jack Sock (Houston), Dominic Thiem (Nice) and Denis Istomin (Nottingham). Paire earned €80,000 and 250 Emirates ATP Rankings points.
On a blustery and cool day in the seaside town of Bastad, Paire saved two set points in the eventual first set tie-break. The World No. 62 then sent Robredo a tricky drop shot on his own set point, which the Spaniard was unable to return. The Frenchman claimed the first set in 56 minutes.
Paire continued to apply pressure in the second set, breaking Robredo for a 4-2 lead after the Spaniard sent a forehand into the net on break point. The 26 year old then held at love for 5-2. Showing no signs of nerves, an ace gave Paire his first match point, which he promptly capitalised on with another ace to clinch victory after 93 minutes.

“It’s a perfect week,” said Paire. “The conditions today were not easy, but I’m really happy to win against Tommy. He’s a very good player. To play against him in the final and to beat him is a dream, so I’m very happy.

“It was a lot of pressure, but I think I played well… I hope it’s not the last [title] for me.”
Paire became the first player to win titles on the ATP World Tour, ATP Challenger Tour and ITF Futures circuit in the same season since Steve Darcis in 2006. He is the fifth player to win on both the ATP World Tour and ATP Challenger Tour this year (Ram, Mahut, Vesely, Estrella Burgos), having prevailed at the Challenger stops in Bergamo and Quimper.

Robredo was attempting to capture his third title at this ATP World Tour 250 tournament (2006, 2008), and his 12th clay-court trophy overall. The Spaniard, now 12-11 in tour-level finals, took home €42,100 and 150 Emirates ATP Rankings points.

“I really wanted to win,” said Robredo. “I think I had a lot of chances. He also had chances and he got them.

“I’m happy. Before coming here, I wasn’t expecting to be in the final. I think this is a good start of the season for me, so let’s see if I can keep doing the same.”

Benoit Paire dokonał niezwykłego wyczynu - w obecnym sezonie wygrał turnieje na wszystkich szczeblach rozgrywek w męskim tenisie - ITF Futures, ATP Challenger Tour i ATP World Tour.

Kolekcjonowanie tytułów Benoit Paire rozpoczął od najniższego poziomu. W styczniu okazał się najlepszy w turnieju ITF Futures we francuskim Bressuire. W finale pokonał wówczas rodaka, Gregoire'a Barrère'a, 6:4, 3:6, 6:4.

Na szczeblu ATP Challenger Tour Paire mistrzostwo wywalczył dwa tygodnie później, także na nawierzchni twardej w hali, w Bergamo. We Włoszech na początek rozegrał dwa trzysetowe mecze z Janem Mertlem i Iliją Bozoljacem, ale od ćwierćfinału nie stracił już ani jednej partii, ogrywając kolejno Farucha Dustowa, Jürgena Zoppa i Ołeksandra Niedowiesowa. Na początku marca wygrał także halowego challengera w Quimper.

Po Wimbledonie 26-latek z Awinionu zapowiedział, że zamierza "zaatakować" w lipcowych turniejach na ceglanej mączce w Europie. I udowodnił, że nie rzucał słów na wiatr. W zeszłym tygodniu w Båstad zdobył pierwszy w karierze tytuł w głównym cyklu męskich rozgrywek.

W drodze po trofeum w Ski Star Swedish Open Paire nie stracił seta. Na otwarcie wygrał z Markusem Erikssonem, następnie pokonał 6:2, 6:3 najwyżej rozstawionego Davida Goffina, w ćwierćfinale uporał się z Denisem Istominem (6:4, 6:2), a w 1/2 finału z broniącym tytułu Pablo Cuevasem (6:4, 6:3). W finale tenisista z Prowansji ograł 7:6(7), 6:3 wyśmienitego specjalistę od gry na kortach ziemnych, Tommy'ego Robredo.

Ostatnim tenisistą, który w jednym sezonie zdobywał tytuły na wszystkich trzech poziomach męskich rozgrywek, był w 2006 roku Steve Darcis.
